Here are a few examples of what there is to do in this wonderful vacation spot:

Wine Tasting

        - Taste of Passion, http://www.lpwines.com/taste/

        Febuary 9 & 10, 2008

This special weekend celebrates wine, chocolate and love in anticipation of Valentine's Day! It marks the first of four special events that will be hosted by the wineries of the Leelanau Peninsula Vintners Association in 2008. The combination of winter's beauty in Leelanau with the special pleasures of life always makes for wonderful weekend. As with all LPVA events, attendance is limited to give participants an opportunity to become better acquainted with our wine and wineries.

You will be given a souvenir glass to keep at your first stop and each winery will offer you a special wine pour and a chocolate treat. After your starting winery, you may visit all 13 wineries in any order, up to eight on Saturday and finishing on Sunday, at any time between the hours of 11am to 5pm Saturday, or noon to 5pm Sunday.

To add to the weekend, many wineries will be hosting special events that celebrate the beauty and fun to be had in our region in wintertime - details to follow! All participants will also be entered in a very special drawing for romantic packages from the Leelanau & Traverse City area.

Please note that Good Harbor Winery & Longview Winery will not be participating in this event.

Art Classes

- On going throughout summer at different intervals for adult & children

The Glen Arbor Art Association is offering a rich and varied line up of opportunities to art students. New this year is a summer long pottery program. We have also added a workshop on Indian arts, digital photography, mosaics, quilting, life drawing, and an even larger choice of painting classes. The instructors all have impressive credentials. Most of the adult classes are taught in the beautiful pastoral setting of Thoreson Farm, located in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Its grand vistas and quiet, so increasingly rare in the world today, are invaluable to anyone seeking a bit of inspiration.
